UE – NZQA Requirements (level 3 or higher)
14 credits in one approved subject
14 credits in another approved subject
14 credits from one or two additional domains or approved subjects
Literacy – 8 Credits in English or Te Reo Maori at level 2 or higher – 4 in writing & 4 in reading
Numeracy - 14 numeracy at level 1 or higher
Ranking – This will take place in 2011 at University of Auckland, Victoria University and Otago
Score is based on the students 80 best credits in UE approved subjects at level 3 or higher within 5 approved subjects
A maximum of 24 credits in each subject will be counted
If a student achieves fewer that 80 credits in level 3 or higher their rank will be based on level 3 credits that they have achieved.
Excellence = 4 pts
Merit = 3 pts
Achieved = 2 pts
University of Auckland – UE requirements
The guaranteed entry score varies per programme. Some programmes select largely on auditions and portfolios. Some examples of ranking score per subject are:
Bachelor of Business 180
Bachelor of Education 140
Bachelor of Nursing 210
Bachelor of Music 140
Bachelor of Pharmacy 230
Biomedical Science 239
Bachelor of Technology 220
Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science 190
Bachelor of Fine Arts UE & Portfolio
Bachelor of Music- performance UE & audition
All others note mentioned would need 140
University of Waikato – UE requirements
The entry per programme will be based on any required courses needed for that particular programme but there is no ranking.
Massey University – UE requirements
For most undergraduate level programmes, the minimum academic entry requirement is successful completion of a qualification equivalent to the New Zealand Year 13 - NCEA Level 3 University Entrance
Victoria University- UE requirements
The guaranteed Entry score 2011 is 120 points for all undergraduate degrees
Students that do not receive entrance there are University Preparation programmes

University of Canterbury – UE requirements
The university has open entry for the first year of most undergraduate programmes. See blow for the ones that have special application in addition to the standard application for enrolment.

Faculty of Education – Bed(Physical Education), BSpc, ECE, Primary
Faculty of Engineering and Forestry Faculty of Science –BSLT
Otago University – UE Requirements
Students applying for the restricted-entry degrees of Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Dental technology, Bachelor of Health Sciences (Medical Radiation Therapy)
And any Teaching Degrees (Primary or ECE) will be required to UE and also be selected into the courses on other criteria. There is an audition for Performance Music. Please look to the undergraduate prospectus for specific criteria
