Every student shall wear correct school uniform. This applies to students who are attending school, travelling to and from school, identifiable as Sacred Heart students in public places and at school functions. The school reserves the right to advise students when it considers that their appearance is unacceptable, and not in compliance with the school uniform and dress codes. Summer uniform is to be worn in Term 1 and from Labour Day until the end of Term 4. Weather conditions may alter these dates. Students will be notified of these date changes. All students are expected to be in correct uniform at all times. All personal belongings and items of school uniform are to be clearly named for easy identification.
SUMMER (Yr 9-12)
Regulation College skirt, to be touching the floor when the student is kneeling
Year 9 – Regulation College white short-sleeved cotton blouse with maroon trim, worn over the skirt.
Years 10–12 - White short-sleeved cotton blouse, worn over the skirt
Maroon v-necked jersey
Plain white socks turned down above the ankle (Not sports socks) and black lace-up leather shoes/dark brown roman sandals, worn with heel strap behind the heel, and without socks
WINTER (Yr 9-12)
Regulation College skirt, to be touching the floor when the student is kneeling
Long-sleeved white blouse, top button done up, blouse tucked in at all times.
Maroon v-necked jersey
Maroon tie.
Knee-length black socks or black panti-hose or plain white socks turned down above the ankle (not sports socks) with black lace-up leather shoes.
College blazer. The only badges permitted on lapels are school-related badges.
A maroon, maroon-and-white or white scarf is permitted (not in Assembly). Permitted in class at teacher’s discretion.
Gloves are permitted (not in class or Assembly).
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Regulation College PE sports shirt and shorts, with suitable footwear.
In winter plain black, navy or maroon trackpants or the school tracksuit may be worn.
SPORTS TEAMS
The correct sports uniform must be worn.
All other uniform regulations are to be followed.
FORMAL OCCASIONS
Full school uniform, according to season, including blazer. Roman sandals are not to be worn
MUFTI OCCASIONS
No extremes of fashion, frayed, skin-tight, see-through clothing, revealing clothing. No alcohol/drugs/other offensive logos. Appropriate mufti is to be worn.
WET WEATHER
School windbreaker or other waterproof jacket.
AT ALL TIMES
The following are not permitted: Visible tattoos, piercings (including tongue studs) or graffiti on the body, shoes, roman sandals or other articles of uniform including schoolbags.
Schoolbags: Consideration must be given to protection of school property, e.g. textbooks and library books. Bags should be waterproof. A backpack is a good choice.
A watch and one pair of plain, small gold/silver sleepers or plain, small stud earrings are the only jewellery items permitted. If earrings are worn, one earring is to be worn in each lower ear lobe.
Hair must be off the face and tidy. Shoulder-length and longer hair is to be tied back. Hair-ties are to be inconspicuous. Natural hair colourings and discreet hairstyles are the only ones permitted.
Clear nail polish is the only type permitted. Make-up, including lip gloss, is not permitted.
YEAR 13 SUMMER:
Grey skirt to be at least 10cm below the knee
White tailored blouse
Black stockings/black socks that fit above the knee
Dark brown or black strapped-in sandal. More details are available at the uniform shop on the school site.
1 item of appropriate neck jewellery
YEAR 13 WINTER:
